Andy’s DPF Cleaners is a focused service inside Curtain Clean – a Tauranga business that’s been running ultrasonic cleaning equipment for years across multiple applications. DPF cleaning is what we’re doubling down on.
How we got here.
Curtain Clean is a local success story. Based in our Tauranga workshop, we’ve been cleaning and restoring curtains and blinds of all types for over 20 years – for homeowners, retirement villages, Council buildings, hotels, and motels across the North Island.
A few years back we started looking at where else the same technology could be applied. DPFs came up because the problem – carbon and ash stuck inside intricate ceramic structures – is exactly what ultrasonics is good at.
We invested in ultrasonic tanks from the US. At first we thought they’d be for household items damaged by fire or water. Then, three years ago, we were asked to clean a DPF for the first time. The results were incredible, so we pivoted quickly to take on the legacy cleaning options used across New Zealand. We’ve had a 100% success rate since – not a single unhappy customer.
Andy’s DPF Cleaners is the focused service that came out of that – a dedicated brand for the diesel and industrial filtration work, while Curtain Clean carries on with its core business.
What makes us different.

It’s ultrasonics.
Pressure cleaning shifts what’s loose. Ultrasonics releases what’s stuck. The technology has been around for many years – it’s just not very well known here yet.
Flow pressure proof.
Every job comes back with two flow pressure readings on the invoice. Blocked state in. Cleaned state out. You’ve got the proof in writing – not our word for it.
We’re honest about what we don’t know.
Pressure-based cleaning has been in NZ for ten years or more. Ultrasonic DPF cleaning is newer. We’re still learning what works best on which filters. We’d rather tell you that up front than oversell.

We work out of a workshop in Greerton with the tanks, the test bench, and the documentation set up for repeat jobs.

How we work
Most jobs come in by courier from workshops around New Zealand. We do the clean, run the flow pressure tests, and ship the part back. Drop-offs welcome if you’re local.

Very competitive pricing.
We can clean a small DPF (car or light commercial) from $450 + GST. See the full price list for larger units.
The diesel mechanics’ market is where this starts.
Workshops are dealing with the warning lights and the customer conversations. They send us the filter, we clean it, they refit. The relationship is straightforward and repeatable. Most of our work today comes through workshops.
Owner-drivers are the audience the conversation is hardest with.
The truck is their living room. Their decision happens fast, under pressure, and the dealer often gets there first with “just replace it.” Reaching them takes time and trust.
Emissions testing is coming, and that changes things.
NZTA is moving toward emissions testing as part of COF inspection. Deleted vehicles will fail. Ultrasonic cleaning – cleaning the original filter and refitting it – restores compliance. We expect un-doing deletes to become a real part of our work over the next two to three years.
